The International Fantasy Gaming Society is
an organization dedicated to Live-Action Role-Playing
games run in a fantasy setting. Our games are fun, imaginative,
and safe!
|
|
Costuming, acting, special effects, adventure
gaming, mock combats and designing fantastic new worlds
are all part of what we do. If you enjoy fantasy literature,
tabletop gaming, heroic myths,or adventure movies,
then join us as we undertake a journey of the imagination:
yours! Our intrepid adventurers have ranged in age
from 7 to 60 and even entire families have enjoyed
playing together. Everyone is welcome!
|
|
Through roleplaying you act out the fantastic
adventures imagined in books and tabletop gaming. With
your real world skills you will cross rope bridges,
pick locks, battle fearsome monsters, look for hidden
traps or chase down doers of evil deeds.
|
|
Using the IFGS Fantasy Rules you may cast spells,
strike might blows in combat, follow tracks, or find
hidden passageways. Combat in IFGS uses mock, padded
weapons which must be approved by an Safety Officer
before games begin. Weapons are fast and light and no
armor is needed. However, there are many ways in IFGS
to avoid a fight: roleplaying is just one of them!
|
|
You may participate as a Player Character (PC),
Non-Player Character (NPC, the actors and actresses
that set the stage), a Gamemaster, or as support staff.
As a PC you decide which class of adventurer you will
play: Knight, Ranger, Fighter, Cleric, Thief, Magic
User, Druid, or Monk. As an NPC you get to perform a
role given you by the game designer of the world you
are helping to create. Either way, there is plenty of
fun to be had!
